Join us for a guided tour of some of the finest kayaking areas in all of Helgeland.

The Herøy archipelago consists of thousands of large and small islands, islets, and skerries. In this beautiful and sheltered archipelago, you can join Herøy Kajakk & Sykkel on several delightful kayaking tours.

Tour to Jønnesholmen, 3-4 hours.
This tour takes you to Seløy in Herøy, where you’ll land on a beautiful beach for a break with food and drinks. It’s also a great spot for swimming, and during the trip, you’ll enjoy magnificent views of Lovund Island and the open sea.

Tour to Slåtterøya, 4-5 hours.
This is a highly popular tour, mostly inland and close to the coast, to the cozy little island of Slåtterøya. There’s a barbecue area where you can take a good break to eat and wander around the small island, with excellent chances of spotting sea eagles on this trip.

Beginner tour in the Herøy strait, 2-3 hours
This is a calm tour designed for beginners or those who haven’t kayaked in a while. You’ll receive a simple introduction on how to get in and out of the kayak and learn basic paddling techniques.

Herøy Kajakk og Sykkel (Herøy Kayak and bike) are based on the island of Sør-Herøy, approxiantly a 5 minute drive or 10 minute bike ride from the ferry dock on Herøy.

Please:

  • Strive to leave no trace of your visit. Bring back all your rubbish, including used toilet paper, and discard it in the nearest rubbish bin.
  • Plan your toilet visits and use the opportunity when you pass a toilet. In the wilderness, make sure you are not a nuisance to others.
  • Respect the local wildlife. Keep a good distance from wildlife, livestock and birds. Keep your dog leashed.
  • Respect private property. Keep a respectful distance from houses and cabins.
  • Show good boating sense. Keep a good distance from shore and drive at a low speed, especially when you are close to anyone or anything on the water, including birds or animals. Avoid loud and disturbing engine noise. Be aware that some islands and nature reserves are important nesting sites, and that going ashore is prohibited during the nesting season.
  • Follow the Norwegian Mountain Code (Fjellvettreglene). Plan your excursion according to the weather forecast, your skills and experience.
  • Join a guided excursion or consider hiring an experienced guide, especially when you don’t have sufficient experience or knowledge to guarantee a safe trip.
