Join us for a guided tour of some of the finest kayaking areas in all of Helgeland.

Herøy is made up of thousands of islands, islets, and skerries – a peaceful and scenic area that’s perfect for kayaking. With Herøy Kajakk & Sykkel, you can join guided trips led by locals who know the coastline inside out.

Øksningan: Sea eagle safari by kayak
This is Herøy Kajakk & Sykkel’s most popular tour! A guided kayaking trip through the island landscape around Øksningan and Hjelmsøya, on the western side of Herøy. Expect great views and plenty of wildlife along the way. The tour includes coffee and a light lunch, and for those who want, there’s the option of a short hike to one of the small island peaks for a scenic lookout.

Herøy: Evening paddle with a view
Join a guided evening trip and take in the views of Lovund, Dønnamannen and The Seven Sisters. Evening paddles often offer the best kayaking experiences – calm waters, the soft evening sun, and rich birdlife.

Herøysundet: Beginner-friendly kayaking
This guided tour through Herøysundet takes you through sheltered and calm waters, right by the village of Silvalen in Herøy. It’s a short and easy trip, perfect for beginners, no paddling certificate required. Along the way, you’ll enjoy views of Dønnamannen, The Seven Sisters, and the many charming boathouses lining the sound.

All the guides grew up in Herøy and have spent countless hours exploring the archipelago. They know where to go and love sharing stories of life along the Helgeland coast. Herøy Kajakk & Sykkel also offers tailor-made trips for larger groups and companies. Just get in touch – they’ll help you plan a memorable kayaking trip.
