Are you looking for a unique experience? An experience where nature and culture meet and leaves an impression in all your senses? Then you should take a trip to Sæterstad Gård, beautifully situated 400 meters above sea level at the foot of Krutfjellet in Hattfjelldal, an area that has been populated by Sami, Swedes and Norwegians for many centuries.
Accommodation and farm restaurant
Sæterstad is an organic mountain farm located in an area that has been populated by Sami, Swedes and Norwegians for many hundreds of years. In addition to accommodation, you will find a goat barn, a fish barn, its own micro power plant, salt cave, a great farm restaurant and a small shop on the farm. And outside you get entertainment from wild goats.
You either spend the night in a room in the beautiful environmental house with sauna, jacuzzi and salt cave. Or you get a room inside the farmhouse. Common to all places are cozy rooms with good beds where you sleep well in rural silence.
In the farm restaurant, where everything must be pre-ordered, delicious dishes are served, most of which are made in the wood-fired oven. And you can buy several of the farm’s products from the farm shop, including award-winning rakfisk, organic meat and good cheeses.

Activities
From the farm there are several marked hiking trails that go to good fishing lakes. The hosts, by prior arrangement, can be a guide in the local area or take part in hikes. Otherwise, the farm has 3 private fishing lakes that you can use. Boat and canoe can be rented.
In winter, there are great conditions for ice fishing and several snowmobile trails pass several relevant fishing lakes. In winter, there are also guided tours adapted to all activity levels, whether you want to use randonee, snowboard or cross-country skiing. The trips can vary from long nice trips on “cross-country skiing” to speed and excitement down steep mountain sides.

The farm is open all year on request.
The farm has its own micro power plant, fish barn, wood burning oven, sauna, jacuzzi and salt cave. In addition, you can buy cheeses and char from the farm shop.

Norwegian Aquaculture Centre – Rorbu cabins by the sea
When you travel the scenic Helgeland coast, you are at the heart of one of Norway’s most important industries: aquaculture. And the Norwegian Aquaculture Centre is right on the water at Toftsundet, in the middle of the country’s salmon farming industry. Here you can observe every phase of the salmon’s life up close. A gangway takes you to the centre’s salmon pens. Nearby are the rorbu, the traditional fishermen’s cabins, as well as a building that houses a historic exhibition and the centre’s restaurant.
