Lille Herstrand is a modern holiday home just meters from the sea, located in Meløy at the northern end of the Helgeland Coast. Here, you can enjoy nature and the peaceful surroundings, perhaps from a kayak or boat?
When you rent Lille Herstrand, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a unique stay in one of the most beautiful places on the northern Helgeland coast. With proximity to the sea and several beaches near the house, you can relax and enjoy the beautiful coastal landscape that surrounds you. The house features five bedrooms and two fully equipped bathrooms, allowing you to invite family and friends for a holiday. From the living room, kitchen, or bedrooms, you can enjoy the spectacular sea views while taking advantage of the amenities.
Rent a boat
In the surrounding area, you’ll find everything you need for an active holiday. You can explore the many islands and islets in the area by boat or take a kayak trip along the coast. Lille Herstrand offers the rental of a Kaasbøll 760 HT, a new and practical boat perfect for longer trips or deep-sea fishing for halibut.
Kayaking
A couple of kayaks are included in the rental, and outdoor furniture and a gas grill are also available. The house features a fireplace and large windows facing the sea in the living room and kitchen, and the ground floor has slate flooring with underfloor heating, providing a comfortable ambiance.
Fishing
There is excellent fishing right outside the house. Large fish are caught in the immediate vicinity, and there are several opportunities for diving in the area. There is also good fishing from the rocks on the property for mackerel, cod, and plaice.
Sauna
After an active day, you can relax in the sauna with a view of the Northern Lights or the midnight sun, and of course, the sea. After a sauna session, you can take a dip in the sea to cool down.
Meløy also offers many other experiences, including mountains with spectacular views of large parts of the Helgeland coast, culinary experiences on the island of Støtt, as well as cave tours and glacier hiking.

To get to Lille Herstrand, you need to take a ferry from either Vassdalsvik in the south or Ørnes in the north, or a express boat from Ørnes.
Please check the ferry- and express boat scheduals on ReisNordland.no, or contact Lille Herstrand for assistance with transportation to and from the mainland.

Træna Museum documents the this archipelago’s history going back to the Stone Age. Some of the archaeological discoveries displayed date back at least 9000 years. For this reason, Træna can rightfully call itself “the oldest fishing community in Norway”.
