Experience day by day

Day 1 – Lovund, chocolate and life by the harbour

The trip departs from Sandnessjøen at 10:00. The boat heads west through the characteristic island landscape, where low islets, open sea and distant mountains frame the journey.

After about 1.5 hours, you arrive at Lovund – an island known for its active local community and the puffin colony. Here, you have time to explore the island before lunch is served at Lovund Hotel.

At 14:00, the journey continues towards Dønna and Sjokoladebrygga. After about an hour at sea, you are welcomed to a guided visit with storytelling and local chocolate tastings. Here, craftsmanship and coastal culture come together in calm surroundings.

Later in the afternoon, the trip continues to Augustbryggo on Herøy, arriving around 17:00. Dinner is served in maritime surroundings, followed by an evening to unwind and enjoy the atmosphere. The overnight stay is close to the sea at Augustbryggo, with breakfast included.

Day 2 – Sensory stops and coastal art

After breakfast, the journey continues at 10:00. The first stop is Etcetera – a place offering an unconventional and sensory-rich experience.

The trip then continues through the archipelago towards the iconic sculpture Petter på skjæret. From the boat, you can experience the 20-ton artwork up close while hearing the story behind the distinctive figure standing guard at the ocean’s edge.

After a varied morning, the journey returns to Sandnessjøen, arriving around 13:10.

Welcome to Sandnessjøen

The town of Sandnessjøen is situated roughly at the geographic centre of the magnificent Helgeland coast. It sits midway between mighty mountains and beautiful islands. Here you are near the Seven Sisters mountain range, the kayaking paradise of Herøy, the recreated Viking chieftain seat Sandnes, the museum that celebrates the 17th-century poet-priest Petter Dass, and the island of Dønna which is wonderful to explore on two wheels.
