Enjoy calm and atmospheric alpaca experiences at Straumen Gård. Choose between different activities that combine forest walks with lunch or yoga.

Straumen Gård is set in scenic surroundings along the fjord, a short drive west of Mo i Rana. Here, guests are welcomed into the “alpaca forest”, where the farm’s friendly alpacas roam freely and curiously approach visitors. Around the campfire, you’ll notice the pace slow down, with a sense of calm and presence settling into the quiet landscape.

Alpaca lunch and fjord walk

Join a gentle walk into the forest, where alpacas graze freely around you while you enjoy a simple but tasty lunch. Afterward, the walk continues along the fjord together with some of the animals. The pace is easy, allowing plenty of time to get to know the alpacas, take photos, and enjoy the views. The alpacas are shared among participants, creating a social and relaxed atmosphere.

Fjord walk with alpacas

Join a guided nature walk with alpacas. The experience begins in the alpaca forest, where the female alpacas graze peacefully among the trees. Here, there’s time to greet them, get close, and enjoy a calm introduction to the herd.

When ready, the group moves on to meet the male alpacas—curious and friendly companions ready to join the walk. Together, you set off on a peaceful walk through the forest and down towards the fjord.

Yoga, walk and slow down with alpacas

This experience begins at Straumen Gård, beautifully located between fjord and mountains in Helgeland. From the farm, the group walks into the forest accompanied by professional yoga instructor Leammuid Biret Rávdna, where the day opens with “Yoga with Nature.” This is a gentle practice inspired by Sámi philosophy, where humans are seen as an integrated part of nature’s cycle, not separate from it.

The yoga session takes place in the forest and invites you to slow down and reconnect through breathing, gentle movements, and mindful awareness. Please dress for the weather and bring something to sit on.

After yoga, a homemade lunch is served in peaceful natural surroundings, accompanied by the farm’s curious alpacas. The experience then continues with a calm alpaca walk down towards the fjord, at a relaxed pace with time for photos, interaction with the animals, and taking in the surrounding landscape.

Join a warm and peaceful nature experience—with alpacas, quiet surroundings, and time to simply be present.
