Join a unique wilderness journey through the Auster‑Vefsna Nature Reserve – one of Helgeland’s most untouched and dramatic river landscapes. Experience the feeling of exploration as the river carries you through old-growth forest, narrow gorges and powerful rapids, while you and your guide navigate the raft through the wide and varied landscape.

A true wilderness adventure

In a landscape that could easily be compared to parts of Alaska or the Canadian wilderness, the Auster‑Vefsna river cuts through old forest, narrow gorges and strong rapids. This journey offers a rare chance to experience wild, untouched nature, feel the force of the river, and enjoy the sense of travelling into the unknown. It is a genuine wilderness adventure in the heart of Norway.

RiverNorth’s experienced guides lead you safely through remote rapids, surrounded by silence and old forest. When the day on the river comes to an end, the group sets up camp on a beach along the calm riverbank. The guides light the fire and prepare dinner, while guests can try their luck fishing or simply relax with a warm drink. As night falls, you fall asleep to the sound of wind in the trees, the gentle flow of the river and the crackling of the fire.

After a good night’s sleep and breakfast, the journey continues by raft down to Trofors. Along the way, you navigate exciting rapids, enjoy lunch outdoors, and experience the dramatic Kløvimo Gorge and, when conditions allow, the powerful Ragnarokk rapid. With experienced guides throughout, you are in safe hands and can enjoy both the thrill of the river, a sense of achievement, and strong nature experiences. As you will be wearing waterproof clothing at all times, rafting is just as suitable in all weather, and rainy conditions can add a more atmospheric and raw feel to the trip.

This is the only multi-day rafting expedition in Scandinavia – a unique experience you won’t find elsewhere in Europe.
