At Myken Apartments, you have several accommodation choices on this quaint island far out on the Helgeland Coast. In the apartments at Myken Brygge, you’ll stay right by the express boat quay, enjoying a splendid view of the strait and Myken’s entryway. Alternatively, you can choose one of the houses located a bit more secluded, further inland on the island.
Myken Brygge
Myken Brygge comprises two apartments and two additional rooms, which can be rented separately or in conjunction with the apartments. Altogether, the apartments provide 23 sleeping spots, making it an ideal choice for large extended families or groups.
Langstrandbrygga
With eight beds spread across three bedrooms, Langstrandbrygga is perfect for larger families or groups of friends traveling together. It’s a renovated traditional seaside house with two living rooms, a kitchen, bathroom, and three bedrooms.
Hellestua
Suited for couples or small families, Hellestua offers four sleeping spaces. Located a bit more secluded on the island, it’s about 300 meters from the express boat quay. The house includes a cozy living room, kitchen, bathroom, one bedroom, and a sleeping loft.
Boat Rental
As an old fishing village, Myken is renowned for its excellent sea fishing. Myken Apartments offers boat rentals, allowing you to catch your dinner and explore the island’s surroundings by sea. The open sea here is vast, but on good days, it’s lovely to sail around the smaller islets just outside Myken. Or, if you prefer, you can stick to the calmer waters inside the strait and between the larger islands and islets.

Myken offers two eateries that serve delicious food during the summer season. At Myken Seng og Suppe, you can order breakfast, lunch, or enjoy a pleasant dinner in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Meanwhile, Fiskebruket offers a three-course dinner featuring local dishes.
Myken Handel, the island’s small local store, serves as the heart of the community. Locals gather year-round for a coffee and a chat. It stocks essential groceries, fishing equipment, and practical clothing.

Myken is located in Rødøy, to the north of the Helgeland coast, and is accessible only by express boat.

When you travel the scenic Helgeland coast, you are at the heart of one of Norway’s most important industries: aquaculture. And the Norwegian Aquaculture Centre is right on the water at Toftsundet, in the middle of the country’s salmon farming industry. Here you can observe every phase of the salmon’s life up close.
