Along the Coastal Route in Bindal, Kjelleidet Camping offers cabins, motorhome parking and tent areas with easy access and a close-to-nature setting. It’s a quiet and convenient stop for travellers.

Kjelleidet Camping is located by the sea along the Coastal Route (Fv. 17) in Bindal, right on the border between Nordland and Trøndelag. With mountain views and a short distance to the fjord, fishing spots and hiking trails, it’s a natural place to stop when travelling along the Helgeland coast. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, and the campsite is open year-round.

The site offers two cabins: one with space for up to six people and a higher standard, and a smaller cabin with four beds and easy access to the sanitary facilities. There are also parking for motorhomes, caravans and tents, with power hookups and access to showers, toilets and kitchen facilities.

The service building includes modern amenities and a common lounge where guests can spend time together or enjoy a quiet evening indoors. Free WiFi is available throughout the area. During the summer season, a café and kiosk are open, serving homemade food from Longaard Lokalmat – including meatballs, game stew and slow-cooked beef.

Kjelleidet Camping is a good base for exploring the outdoors. You can hike to the top of Heilhornet (1058 m), go canoeing, rent a boat or try your luck fishing in the fjord. The hosts know the area well and are happy to recommend tours and activities.

The campsite is open year-round, with cabin rentals and pitches available depending on the season. In the summer months, there is a café and kiosk offering local food, and all guests have access to showers, toilets and a guest lounge. There is no age limit, and the area is suitable for families with easy access and free parking.

Kjelleidet Camping is located along the Coastal Route (Fv. 17) in Bindal municipality, roughly halfway between Namsos and Brønnøysund.

The campsite is easy to reach by car, and there is free parking right next to the area.

Travellers coming from the south follow the Coastal Route north via Foldereid, while those arriving from the north can drive from Brønnøysund or take the Holm–Vennesund ferry. Kjelleidet is just a few minutes from the main road and is well signposted.

  • Follow the Norwegian Mountain Code (Fjellvettreglene). Plan your excursion according to the weather forecast, your skills and experience.
  • Join a guided excursion or consider hiring an experienced guide, especially when you don’t have sufficient experience or knowledge to guarantee a safe trip.
