In Kilvika along the Coastal Route in Meløy, where rugged coastal nature meets modern industry, you’ll find Myrvoll Kulturgård – a small farm from the early 1900s, carefully preserved and given new life. Here, visitors are invited to experience traditional food, art and local history in a setting where the pace is a little slower.

Myrvoll Kulturgård is a small farm with buildings that reflect its long history. The old barn has been converted into a café, library and gallery, while the larger barn is used as a venue for groups and private events. Together, the buildings create a warm and authentic setting, where the original farm environment is preserved and used in new ways.

Traditional food with local ingredients

At Myrvoll, traditional food and locally sourced ingredients take centre stage. During the summer season, when the farm is open on selected days, classic dishes such as sour cream porridge, flatbread, cured meats and meat soup are served. Ingredients are sourced locally, and much is produced on the farm itself, with berries, fruit and vegetables from the garden.

In the traditional outdoor bakehouse, flatbread and lefse are prepared, where visitors can sit down to eat or enjoy a cup of coffee in peaceful surroundings.

Art and culture in a farm setting

The cultural farm includes a gallery with changing art exhibitions. Each summer brings new expressions, and in July 2026 an exhibition featuring works by Perry Strømdal will open. The exhibitions add another layer to the visit and create a natural meeting point between culture, landscape and farm life.

Experiences for groups – all year round

For groups, Myrvoll Kulturgård can open by arrangement throughout the year. Catering is offered alongside storytelling from the area, with a focus on local culture, people and the surrounding landscape of Kilvika. This makes the farm well suited for teams, organisations and private gatherings looking for a social and meaningful setting.

Contrasts, farm life and space to breathe

In the courtyard, visitors are met by roosters and hens, giving the place a lived-in and down-to-earth feel. At the same time, the surrounding area is characterised by clear contrasts. Where rugged nature exists side by side with modern industry such as power plants and smolt facilities. This gives Kilvika and Myrvoll Kulturgård a distinct identity.

The philosophy behind the farm is that traditional surroundings can offer a pause in a busy everyday life – a place where time can slow down. The aim is for visitors to leave with a positive experience that has given them something meaningful, however small.
