At The Still House on Myken, guests stay with the open sea and the small island community just outside the door. The spacious, architect-designed suites combine modern comfort with Myken’s distinctive coastal setting.

The Still House is a place to slow down. Large windows bring the changing light, weather and sea into view, while warm materials and thoughtful details create a sense of comfort and quality. Here, luxury is as much about the silence and the view as what is inside.

The four spacious, architect-designed suites have two bedrooms with king-size beds and private bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable living areas. Each suite has its own character, with carefully selected furniture and details, including bed linen from Høie and bathroom products from Aesop.

Staying here also gives guests the chance to experience life in the small island community of Myken. Step outside to explore the island, meet the people who live here, try local food or visit Myken Distillery. Afterwards, guests can return to their suite, look out towards the horizon and enjoy the quiet.

Myken is a car-free island and can be reached by express passenger boat or private boat.

The Nordland Express connects Myken via Rødøy, Vågaholmen or Tonnes, depending on the direction of travel and day of the week.

Visitors can also take the train to Mo i Rana and continue to Tonnes, or drive to Tonnes or Vågaholmen and take the boat from there.

From 24 June to 16 August, there is also a summer boat service to Myken.

Welcome to Myken

When you step off the boat at Myken, you feel your pulse calming down. Further out to sea, it’s hardly possible to reach Helgeland. But 32 kilometers from the mainland, north of the Arctic Circle, there is a small community on a tiny island, where a handful of enthusiasts keep the lights on in the houses and the doors open.
