Experience the challenges and excitement of the climbing wall at Rana Climbing Center. Whether you are a beginner who just wants to test something new, or an experienced climber on your way to new heights; here you will find routes that suit your level.

The climbing center has rope walls of 10 and 15 meters, several bouldering areas, and routes of all levels of difficulty. On some of the routes, you can use self-belay (autobelay), on others partner belay. In addition, the climbing center has a separate area where even the youngest of climbers can challenge themselves in safe surroundings. Here, everything is set up so that you to get a good physical and mental challenge, whether you are traveling solo, with friends, or with the whole family.

You can rent all the equipment you need at the center, and you can buy a day pass at the reception. Perfect for those who want to climb for a while, take a lunch break, and come back for an extra round. For those who want to stay a little longer and come back several times, it is also possible to buy a punch card, monthly cards, and annual cards.

Safety is very important when climbing, so pay close attention to the safety instructions you receive at the center, and feel free to ask the helpful staff for help if you have any doubts. There are no age limits, but children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Rana Klatresenter doesn’t have an age limit, but children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

You must receive safety training from one of center’s climbing hosts before you can boulder or climb with self-belay (autobelay).

You must have a Brattkort or Topptaukort to secure other climbers.

The climbing center is inside Max Arena in Gruben, a 10 minute drive from the city center of Mo i Rana. You can get her by car, og by bus from Mo Station.

  • Strive to leave no trace of your visit. Bring back all your rubbish, including used toilet paper, and discard it in the nearest rubbish bin.

  • Show good boating sense. Keep a good distance from shore and drive at a low speed, especially when you are close to anyone or anything on the water, including birds or animals. Avoid loud and disturbing engine noise. Be aware that some islands and nature reserves are important nesting sites, and that going ashore is prohibited during the nesting season.
  • Follow the Norwegian Mountain Code (Fjellvettreglene). Plan your excursion according to the weather forecast, your skills and experience.
  • Join a guided excursion or consider hiring an experienced guide, especially when you don’t have sufficient experience or knowledge to guarantee a safe trip.
