Stay in an authentic log house from 1860 on the banks of the Vefsna River.

Experience the unique atmosphere of the 160-year-old Bakarstuo farmhouse. The original log walls and nostalgic decor give the house a cozy and rustic charm, while offering all modern amenities.

The house features four bedrooms and a shared bathroom on the upper floor, as well as a kitchen and living room for self-catering on the ground floor. Here, you can enjoy the tranquility and serenity of the surroundings, and sleep soundly in the comfortable beds, prepared with linen bedding.

Bakarstuo is particularly suitable for those who wish to stay close to the Vefsna River, whether for fishing, rafting, or paddling. You’ll have your own campfire area with a shelter and benches by the river, as well as a dedicated room for drying waders, wetsuits, and hiking gear. The center of the village of Tofors is only two kilometers away, offering a pleasant walk or bike ride along the charming and lightly trafficked rural road.

Upon arrival, you will receive a personal welcome and a tour of the house and the surrounding area. The hosts are happy to provide local information and tips for excursions or activities.

Vær obs på at huset er gammelt og ikke tilrettelagt for bevegelseshemmede. Særlig den originale loftstrappa opp til soverommene kan være utfordrende.

Great hiking opportunities

In addition to fishing or paddling in the Vefsna River, the area offers plenty of other attractions. From Trofors, you have easy access to the magnificent national parks of Lomsdal-Visten and Børgefjell, as well as the surrounding mountain areas, with countless fishing lakes and peaks of all sizes.
