Sjøgata is beautifully decorated for the holidays, and the christmas town Mosjøen welcomes you to enjoy the festive season throughout December with Christmas workshops, concerts, performances, and—most notably—the world’s longest Christmas porridge table, spreading holiday cheer for all ages.

The Christmas festivities in Mosjøen kick off with the lighting of the town Christmas tree on Saturday, November 30. Events large and small fill the calendar throughout Advent, including concerts, holiday workshops, and festive performances. But if you’re planning just one visit to Mosjøen, make it the weekend of December 6–8.

That’s when Mosjøen really pulls out all the stops (and the big porridge pot!) to create the world’s longest Christmas porridge table in Sjøgata! The street is bustling before 8 a.m., as people of all ages—some dressed as Christmas elves—gather for a morning bowl of porridge before heading off to school, work, or holiday shopping. All weekend, stalls line the street, selling local foods, crafts, and art, making it a perfect opportunity to find unique holiday gifts while supporting local businesses.

On December 7 and 8, Saturday and Sunday, the Christmas market offers even more, with a gingerbread house display, horse rides, and a Christmas workshop for kids.

The market stalls and the many cafés along Sjøgata are open all weekend. And if you’re done with your holiday shopping, treat yourself to something nice and simply soak in the cozy atmosphere on this final weekend of Advent. There’s truly no better place to pause and enjoy the season than in Sjøgata, with its enchanting Christmas decor!

Christmas Town Mosjøen will take place from December 6 to December 8, 2024.
