Experience yoga surrounded by the landscapes of Helgeland – whether through a full weekend of Ashtanga Yoga on Dønna or a single outdoor session in nature. These offerings create a unique blend of movement, calm and the natural world, adding meaning and depth to your journey through Helgeland.

YogaBiret invites visitors into a holistic practice where nature, breath and body work together. With roots in Sámi tradition and a strong connection to Helgeland’s environment, instructor Biret offers small groups, personal guidance and teaching that is safe, grounded and inclusive. Here, guests can explore yoga as a way to find balance, peace and renewed energy – regardless of experience or physical ability.

Ashtanga Retreat on Dønna – 20–22 February 2026

At Yogalåven on Dønna, you can enjoy a calm winter weekend with classic Ashtanga Yoga, pranayama, meditation and gentle strength/relaxation sessions. The retreat is suited for those with some experience in Ashtanga, vinyasa or power yoga, and the small group size ensures close follow-up. The weekend combines in-depth teaching with good meals, personal time and the chance to settle into island life.

Yoga in nature – in harmony with everything that lives

In the beautiful summer and autumn landscapes of Rana, YogaBiret offers gentle outdoor yoga inspired by Sámi nature philosophy. Here, nature becomes an active part of the practice: the silence of the mountains, the flow of the water, and the cleansing wind. The session is suitable for all ages and levels, and can be adapted to different groups and accessible locations.
Duration: 1–1.5 hours. Minimum four participants.

Both activities emphasise safety, small groups and leaving no trace in nature. Participants need no prior experience for nature yoga, and the retreat is suited for guests with some familiarity with yoga. Dress for the weather and take part in an experience where Helgeland’s nature becomes part of the movement.

YogaBiret also offers other yoga courses, PT sessions and YogaSpa with drop-in classes available.

The Ashtanga-retreat 20-22 february

Thank you for respecting the local communities, and for helping us preserve the natural beauty of Helgeland!

Please:

  • Strive to leave no trace of your visit. Bring back all your rubbish, including used toilet paper, and discard it in the nearest rubbish bin.
  • Plan your toilet visits and use the opportunity when you pass a toilet. In the wilderness, make sure you are not a nuisance to others.
  • Respect the local wildlife. Keep a good distance from wildlife, livestock and birds. Keep your dog leashed.
  • Respect private property. Keep a respectful distance from houses and cabins.
  • Show good boating sense. Keep a good distance from shore and drive at a low speed, especially when you are close to anyone or anything on the water, including birds or animals. Avoid loud and disturbing engine noise. Be aware that some islands and nature reserves are important nesting sites, and that going ashore is prohibited during the nesting season.
  • Follow the Norwegian Mountain Code (Fjellvettreglene). Plan your excursion according to the weather forecast, your skills and experience.
  • Join a guided excursion or consider hiring an experienced guide, especially when you don’t have sufficient experience or knowledge to guarantee a safe trip.
