At Aspnes by beautiful Fustvatnet, there’s something for everyone, young and old alike. Enjoy excellent swimming opportunities, and the campsite offers rowboat rentals. Just 5 km away, you’ll find a 9-hole golf course.

Fustvatnet is also excellent for fishing, with trout and char being popular catches.

At Aspnes Camping, you can stay in simple cabins. Some cabins come with a mini-kitchen with running water, while all cabins feature cooking plates, refrigerators, and bunk beds or a double sofa bed. The common area includes a TV lounge and a kitchen with all necessary equipment. There are also shared toilet facilities and showers.

There’s ample space for tents, caravans, and motorhomes, with a dumping station available. In the kiosk, which also serves as the reception, you can buy ice, soft drinks, and snacks. Opening hours are somewhat reduced, so inquire upon arrival. Aspnes Camping also offers wireless internet, a beach with a floating dock, and a nature trail nearby.

It’s recommended to take a trip to Mosjøen, just a 15-16 minute drive away. There, you’ll find many excellent dining options. Mosjøen also offers exciting activities like Zipline, via ferrata, and, notably, a hike up the popular Helgelandstrappa with its 3,500 steps up Øyfjellet.

  • Strive to leave no trace of your visit. Bring back all your rubbish, including used toilet paper, and discard it in the nearest rubbish bin.
  • Plan your toilet visits and use the opportunity when you pass a toilet. In the wilderness, make sure you are not a nuisance to others.
  • Respect the local wildlife. Keep a good distance from wildlife, livestock and birds. Keep your dog leashed.
  • Respect private property. Keep a respectful distance from houses and cabins.
  • Show good boating sense. Keep a good distance from shore and drive at a low speed, especially when you are close to anyone or anything on the water, including birds or animals. Avoid loud and disturbing engine noise. Be aware that some islands and nature reserves are important nesting sites, and that going ashore is prohibited during the nesting season.
  • Follow the Norwegian Mountain Code (Fjellvettreglene). Plan your excursion according to the weather forecast, your skills and experience.
  • Join a guided excursion or consider hiring an experienced guide, especially when you don’t have sufficient experience or knowledge to guarantee a safe trip.

Welcome to Mosjøen

Mosjøen, the oldest town in Helgeland, is situated at the foot of Øyfjellet, where the rivers Vefsna and Skjerva join and flow into the Vefsnfjord.
