“Climbing Ravnfloget has been a dream for many people. This rugged mountain was once a lofty playground accessible only to sea eagles and ravens, hence the name.” Today, the Ravnfloget Via Ferrata, a spectacular climbing trail, will take you to the summit of Ravnfloget. The mountain is situated on the western side of the island of Vega.
The Sundsvoll recreation area
We start our excursion at the Sundsvoll parking lot. After a half-hour walk on a trail through the beautiful landscape and an ascent up to 100 metres on the Vega Stairs, we reach the base of the Ravnfloget Via Ferrata. This climbing route will take us 225 metres straight up the cliff. A via ferrata (Italian for “iron road”) is a climbing route where you secure yourself by a harness to a cable bolted to the mountainside. Read More

The Nordland Trekking Trail is divided into 8 sections with a total of 43 daily stages. All of them are beautiful, but many are long, challenging mountain hikes. For the first time, you now have the opportunity to hike the first daily stages of the route as a light backpack hike. This means that most of your luggage will be transported between the accommodations, along with food for each day. You can enjoy the daily stages with a light pack, carrying only what you need for the hike. You could, for example, hike with around 5 kg in your backpack instead of 15-20 kg. Read More

Do you dream of walking on a glacier? Then a trip with MAD Mountain Guides to Austre Okstindbreen is an experience you won't forget. Experience deep-blue crevasses in a magnificent glacier landscape and learn how to use crampons and ice axes. The hike up to the glacier from the parking lot takes about an hour and a half, and on the glacier itself. The guides tailor the tour to the participants, weather, and conditions.
