Markvollkulpen is the Helgeland Coast’s natural water park, featuring several small pools perfect for cooling off and a waterfall shower for a unique swimming experience. Nestled beneath the striking peaks of Skjæringen and Tvillingene, this might just be one of Norway’s finest swimming spots. It’s popular both as a standalone destination and as a stop on the way to or from the mountain summits above.
The trail follows a marked route toward Skjæringen and Tvillingene. You’ll reach the pool after a few hundred meters along the mountainside at roughly 250 meters above sea level. The trail is well-marked and manageable for most, making it suitable for families and beginners, though there are some steep sections that can become slippery in wet weather. Sturdy footwear is recommended. The return follows the same path back to the parking area.
