Exploring Helgeland in every season

Helgeland through local eyes: Welcoming travel trade partners to the Region
This autumn, we’ve had the pleasure of hosting four familiarisation trips across different parts of Helgeland, welcoming both leisure and MICE professionals from international markets.
The trips have showcased Helgeland’s unique mix of coastal and inland experiences, combining nature, culture, history, local food, and meaningful encounters with the people who call this region home. In many ways, these visits bring our brand promise to life: travelling slowly, discovering authentic places, and meeting the Helgelending along the way.
Our guests have experienced Helgeland in all kinds of autumn weather, from Northern Lights evenings and dramatic coastal landscapes to active adventures including rafting, RIB safaris, cave explorations, zipline, hiking, and alpaca walks.
Interest in Helgeland continues to grow, and we look forward to welcoming even more travel trade partners in the months ahead.

Meet us in Rimini!
We’ll be attending TTG Travel Experience in Rimini and would love to connect with tour operators interested in learning more about Helgeland and Northern Norway.
A new gateway to Arctic Norway opens on 30 September 2027
Hedda Hiller / Avinor.
On 30 September 2027, Helgeland will open a brand new airport in Mo i Rana. The airport will significantly improve accessibility to one of Norway’s most spectacular and less crowded destinations, offering easier access to Helgeland and the arctic circle.
The airline Norwegian is planning up to two daily direct flights between Oslo and Mo i Rana during the first months of operation.
Tour operators and travel partners are now invited to register their anticipated seat requirements through an allotment process. By indicating your expected travel volumes, you will gain priority access to capacity on the route once the flight programme is confirmed. This provides an opportunity to secure seats for packages, groups and FIT business well in advance of the airport opening.
The registration is non-binding at this stage and will help ensure that the final flight programme reflects market demand. Partners who register their interest will receive confirmation during the first week of December.
The level of interest from tour operators, businesses and other travel partners will play an important role in documenting demand for the route. Norwegian expects to have sufficient market insight by December 1st to confirm the final operating programme, including the planned frequency of two daily direct services between Oslo and Mo i Rana.
We encourage interested partners to submit their expected requirements as early as possible. For questions regarding allotments, group travel or partnership opportunities, please contact us.
Winter inspiration: Slow travel, northern lights and local traditions
Winter in Helgeland offers a unique opportunity to experience Arctic Norway at a slower pace.
For travellers seeking authentic and meaningful experiences, the season brings opportunities to explore charming coastal towns, discover local food culture, enjoy winter landscapes and hunt for the Northern Lights far from the crowds.
Visitors can wander festive Christmas markets, experience local traditions, and even join the world’s longest rice porridge table in Mosjøen, where thousands gather each December to celebrate the season together.
Whether your clients are looking for soft adventure, cultural experiences, winter wellness or festive holiday atmospheres, Helgeland offers memorable experiences throughout the season.
