In the cozy fjord village of Hemnesberget, you’ll find a delightful mix of food, music, crafts, and art. Market stalls, old boathouses, and sheds are filled with treats like freshly made doughnuts, traditional lefse, waffles on sticks, cured salmon, and Christmas baking. Local farms offer meat and leather goods, and you can enjoy “Waffle and Vinyl” at Jernvaren or coffee, meals, and pastries at the village’s many cafés.

Mosjøen Christmas Market – December 13–15

Mosjøen kicks off its holiday season with the lighting of the Christmas tree on Saturday, November 30, offering events throughout Advent like concerts, workshops, and Christmas plays. However, if you can only visit once, make it the weekend of December 13–15.

That weekend, Mosjøen hosts the world’s longest Christmas porridge table in the historic Sjøgata! The street fills up early, with locals gathering for porridge breakfast before heading off to work, school, or shopping. Throughout the weekend, market stalls sell local food, crafts, and art, making it a perfect time to find unique gifts while supporting the local community.

On Saturday and Sunday, enjoy a gingerbread house exhibition, pony rides, and workshops for children. The market stalls and Sjøgata’s many cafés are open all weekend, offering a chance to relax and treat yourself after your gift shopping.
