Helgeland rows for Norway

This summer, communities across Helgeland came together to support the Norwegian national rowing team during the World Championships. The campaign “Helgeland rows for Norway” generated a series of creative videos that have attracted significant attention online, with several posts reaching international audiences. More than anything, the campaign showcased the strong community spirit, humor, and hospitality that visitors encounter when travelling through Helgeland.

Autumn in Helgeland: Food, Northern Lights and meaningful encounters

Autumn is one of the most rewarding times to visit Helgeland. As the colors shift and evenings grow darker, guests can experience spectacular Northern Lights, local food culture, and a slower pace of travel that allows for deeper connections with both nature and people.

This is the season to meet the Helgelending — the people who shape the region and create memorable experiences.

More and more travelers are looking for authentic, sustainable ways to explore destinations. Helgeland offers the opportunity to travel slowly using coastal ferries, express boats, trains and local transport while enjoying world-class scenery.

Whether exploring the coast by car, hopping between islands by boat, or combining rail journeys with local experiences, Helgeland rewards those who take their time.

We look forward to welcoming more visitors to Helgeland this autumn and winter.
