Regular Tours

Discover the spectacular island group of Træna at the edge of the Helgeland coast. Cruise to charming island communities like Lovund or Myken, or head to the mainland at Tonnes in Lurøy.

The historic fishing community of Træna includes islands such as Sandøy, Holmen, Dørvær, Selvær, and Sanna, where people have lived for over 8,000 years.

This small island of Myken lies 32 kilometers from the mainland, north of the Arctic Circle. Myken boasts a shop, two restaurants, and the world’s first Arctic whisky distillery. On this tour, you’ll land on Myken for a guided visit to the Whisky Cathedral, followed by a delicious meal at one of the local restaurants.

Take a trip to the coast village Tonnes, and go past the legendary Hestmannen mountain and the island communities of Hestmona and Kvarøy on your way to Tonnes. Upon arrival, Magnus at Oscarbrygga will welcome you with delicious local food prepared from Helgeland’s finest ingredients—often accompanied by a story or two.

Tours are available year-round upon request, and Træna RIB and Safari can also tailor trips for groups seeking a personalized experience.

Welcome to Træna

Far out at sea, with only the open ocean and Iceland as its next neighbor to the west, you’ll find the Træna archipelago. Out here, the “sea people” reside, along with fish and birds, amidst hundreds of large and small islands, islets, and reefs.
