From Hattfjelldal to Sandnessjøen

Start your day in Hattfjelldal with a farm visit to Varntresk. In the center of Hattfjelldal, we suggest a visit to the Mountain People’s House and a look at the sculpture Alveborg (The «Elf Castle»). Also consider a hike up Hatten, a mountain walk suitable for young and old. Eager anglers can try their luck in Norway’s second largest lake, Røssvatnet.

Continue the trip along the Wilderness Road, Rv806, enjoying beautiful views and scenery all the way to Korgen. Then continue south on highway E6 via Drevja to Sandnessjøen. After you have settled into the coastal town, we suggest you don your hiking boots and explore the Seven Sisters, a beautiful mountain range.

The Petter Dass Museum at Alstahaug celebrates Northern Norway’s beloved 17th-century poet-priest – and on your way, there is a good chance you may spot a moose. From Sandnessjøen you can take boat trips to the beautiful archipelago – or how about “island hopping” with bike or kayak?
