Augustbryggo Visitors Centre often makes tailored programmes for various group visits, be they school children, professionals or travellers from abroad.

Time:
Indoor tours of the centre are offered daily throughout the summer. Visits to the outdoor facility are offered at 1 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays during the summer, and otherwise by appointment. When you book, the programme may be tailored to your group’s wishes.

Indoor exhibition: The old wharf, where fishermen once brought their catch, has been beautifully restored. Photographs, fishing gear and production equipment document a bygone era. A Canadian documentary film shows the pioneering fish-farming industry of Herøy in the 1970s. The visitor centre also offers conference facilities and meeting rooms. Outdoor, there is a modern aquaculture facility. A knowledgeable guide explains the life cycle of the salmon, from spawn to fry, adult fish and salmon products. The guided tour highlights important factors and considerations for modern aquaculture.
