Vega and the Vega archipelago
2018-12-23 23:08Vega is an archipelago and island community in Helgeland. The municipality of Vega is bordered by Brønnøy to the south, Vevelstad to the east, and Alstahaug and Herøy to the south.
The main island is also called Vega. Today only two other islands – Ylvingen and Omnøy – have year-round residents.
E-House at Nes, Vega
2013-11-22 11:30The Vega archipelago comprises 6000 islands, islets and skerries. The area is home to one of Norway’s largest eider duck colonies. The E-House in Vega is the world’s only museum devoted to eider ducks and offers an insight into the history and tradition of processing down into eiderdown duvets.
