Træna festivalen existed from 1978 to 1998. But then in a small format and internally for the island's population + some disturbed tourists. Today's festival was first organized in 2003 and has continued until today. In a fantastic setting and strong artistic integrity, the festival has consolidated its position as one of Northern Norway's most beautiful cultural events.
